We have 3 vacancies for PC's and so far 1 parishioner is willing to stand. We intend to co opt him at the next meeting, can we invite him to the table before the rest of the meeting takes place?

The new member should sign a declaration of acceptance of office before participating in the meeting.  If that is done on the spot, they can join in immediately.
