Non residents wanting a say in village

Hello

Our village is or has been inundated by monied people buying up the houses in the village as holiday lets.

We call them community killers . However at the second last meeting a couple of them who DO NOT live in the village but let their holiday homes to holiday makers are very verbal as to what "they" want done in the neighbourhood.

They are not registered as voters as they live in other areas.

Question is can they have a say as to how the village is run??

That depends on the rules of your meetings, but, generally, yes they can attend and speak (at the appropriate time as directed by the chair), they don't have rights at the annual parish meeting, however, if their holiday let is their only business, it can be claimed to be their place of work, and as such they would be eligible for election.
