At a committee meeting an agenda item was agreed and voted on for the next meeting but I think there is a good reason to change the wording of the item. How do I go about doing this when it was voted on by the committee?

My suggestion would be for the agreed agenda item to go forward unaltered since there is a decision to that effect. But to have a supplementary item to consider an amendment that modifies the original item to the improved wording. The committee can then consider the amendment and, if it is agreed, vote on the amended item.
