We have an agenda item "clerk's report" at every meeting.  This is for the clerk to report on actions since the last meeting that don't require a decision at the current meeting so it provides an update on the progress of projects etc.  or things that are for information only.  It's a written report so simply noted at the meeting with an opportunity to ask questions, if necessary.

If everyone else can report items, why shouldn't the clerk? It's clearer to have all items reported together, surely? As Delboy says, it's for things which don't need a decision, loose ends tied up, etc. Why don't you want her to speak?
