6 month rule and spate of resignations

a third of the PC resigned within days of each other. We are now within 6 months of the elections in May and have a number of committees that will not be quorate.
Is co-option to the council allowed in these circumstances?

As an alternative, consider widening the membership of the committees or suspend them, depending upon the wording of their terms of reference. As a last resort, if you're using the model standing orders, 4d(xii) allows the council to dissolve any committee or sub-committee.
