Can a vote of no confidence be upheld by a simple majority or does it need the majority of the Council to back it ?

This has been covered previously if you search no confidence in the search. It has no legal relevance. Different rules to our colleagues in Westminster!

If you are insistent on pursuing a vote of no confidence then it needs to be an agenda item.

That said, I do not understand this fixation with votes of no confidence.  They are meaningless and in experience only serve to make matters worse and cause offence.
