Most residents have little contact with XXPC and some might feel intimidated about attending meetings because unless there is an agenda item relevant to them it is difficult to speak on a matter/issue that they might like to raise, even if they do attend meetings the cut off point of three minutes might not seem enough time for the resident to get their point across to council.
Discussion Narrative
Council to discuss whether for a trial period next year to set up a series of Councillor only Surgeries every four-six weeks? In the evening to be held in the village Hall [free of charge] or Library where a few councillors could volunteer to attend and listen to concerns on issues by residents and either attempt to answer the concern or bring those concerns to the appropriate committee or council and then deliver a reply. The meetings could be advertised on our website and the local media.
