Annual Meeting of PC and council policies

Must the Parish Council policies be approved at the Annual Meeting of the PC or can they approved at an ordinary meeting later in the year?

It is a good idea to approve them at the Annual Meeting so that the Clerk can tick them off her list but they can be approved anytime during the Financial Year.  Councils with lots of policies tend to spread them out over the year whereas others will do them all at the Annual Council.

No, the policies should have a review date or a date valid range, and should be reviewed in accordance with the review or end of date valid range.

Our standing orders specify that they should be done at the annual parish council meeting but in all honesty, we'd be there for the night if that were the case.  We tend to delegate authority to review to a committee (said delegation being resolved at the annual parish council meeting in May) and that committee then reports back to full council later in the year
