As recent electoral results settle into "practice" it would seem that not all Councillors are equal in the eyes of our Clerk.

It was sceptical prior to the recent local elections, as the legal authority on the Council, it would be foolish or brave to cross swords with such, whom are creating their own persona on the values of the parish and what and where it needs to be.

I have often read thru the forum that the "tail is wagging the dog", what is the best practice to curtail this offset bias.

The council staffing committee is the official channel to deal with this if the clerk is providing different cllrs with different levels of service.

Thank you Graeme_r unfortunately the staffing committee has no Terms of reference and will be governed with the clerks cohorts.
That is politics some might say and others "sour grapes", a level playing field?
Wishful Thinking. Perhaps the only way is forward.
A committee without terms of reference isn't a committee. The terms of reference define the delegated authority, so with no authority, it's a social gathering.

Our Clerk is also very bias and it is a very difficult situation.  Gather unequivocally evidence to state the obvious but don't expect anyone to agree with your point of view.  I am very often seen as the "issue" rather than the situation that we are now in.   Stick with it, don't walk a way.
