Not so much a question, rather a pitiful reflection of the state of apathy in local politics.sad

In the local authority area, 48 contested town & parish elections v 233 uncontested.

Is it any wonder town & parish councils appear to be performing so poorly if there is such an abject lack of interest...

Catch 22. We don't attract the candidates we need because the council doesn't perform an important function in the community. The council doesn't perform an important function in the community because we don't attract the candidates we need.
