Attending a Zoom meeting without identification

As a resident of the village I live in, I attended the Parish Council Meeting via Zoom.  I logged on as resident (i.e no name) but I was threatened with being disconnected if I didn't identify myself ........is that in order?

In my opinion . members of the public do not need to declare their names. They can remain anonomous. A Council should not have anything to hide as we all work to the Transparency regulations . We stopped gathering names ages ago to keep ourselves clean under GDPR. What do they need a name for ? It cannot be reported on the minutes .

We have had a couple of meetings where we have been zoom bombed by individuals who have failed to register. Not only does this expose individuals to pawn but it also disrupts the meeting
Most councils are now turning to zoom registration so the can check of the accounts are reputable accounts. They can then liaise with neighbouring councils if they experience unwanted attention.

registration gives a unique link to join zoom and if someone tries to log on under the same log in details it terminates the unique link
