I'm not a councillor, or really involved with the council in its running any direct way. But I am a resident, and always take advantage of whatever they aid the community in.. Facilities, events etc.

They are actually quite active, having one meeting a month. It's now on Zoom, and still open to the public.

It seems a shame that they're not advertising it very well. As it's a good opportunity to engage more than the normal 5-6 people!

Is there anything particularly wrong with me advertising the meeting details? I did message the council a few weeks ago to offer the help but didn't get a response, despite chasing up.

Putting aside the fact that the non response of your council might explain why they need promotion by yourself it depends on where and how your promotion is carried out. Information which is provided by the PC and in the public domain is of course available to repeat wherever anyone desires. (unless of course if the PC claims copyright on their agendas etc.). Of course the best way is to liase with the PC to get their support and co-operation in getting the their news etc to the larger audience you envisage. It is always difficult to get some councils to embrace new ideas. We have in our village an online magazine and it has for some time awaited the council's agreement to include a council news page with information from their website. It had to be done without permission(much to the clerks delight as the council never discussed it). They now have their own extra web page in the magazine. If the council complain it can be removed immediately but why wouldn't they want their news getting to a bigger audience?
