I was surprised to be told today of the new regs on accessibility for websites.

Details can be found here:

https://www.gov.uk/guidance/accessibility-requirements-for-public-sector-websites-and-apps#exemptions

I note that Councils will be legally responsible for their website meeting the accessibility standards, even if outsourced to a third party supplier.

My guess is very few.  This makes the case for putting a stop to posting scanned paper print outs of minutes etc.  I suspect a lot of Town/Parish Councils get to know about things like this through NALC newsletters, but did NALC (who I am not a fan of) issue one about these accessibility requirements?

We heard about it via our local county association but understood that for councils with websites already up and running, the date for compliance is not until next year anyway.
