Is there any special procedure required if the Clerk has a direct interest in a planning application?

As the Clerk is an employee and a professional position, there is no special procedure for this.  After all, the Clerk cannot vote on the planning application.  However, it would be good form for the Clerk to excuse themselves from the meeting in order to show the general public that the parish council conducts itself appropriately and that the Clerk is neutral in their role.
