Can co-opted Parish Councillors vote on whether to pay a Parish Council allowance?

Once co-opted, they have the same status as other members, so they can vote on an allowance, although not receive one. (The Local Authorities (Members' Allowances) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2004 regulation 4.)

Since each Cllr voting on allowances, by definition, has an interest - I’m guessing they should all seek a dispensation?

Be aware too that there are different rules on paying allowances in Wales vs England so might depend on where your council is based.
