I wondered are other members & staff within the sector experiencing fatigue/burnout as a direct consequence of the sectors well documented problems. Are things getting worse? (or are the issues just been highlighted more). Is the seemingly ever-expanding role sustainable whilst ab unpaid role? Are member & staff retention rates reaching a critical point (retaining & attracting good staff & good quality members. If your an officer or indeed a Cllr do you see yourself still in respective seat in say 4 years time on current trajectory. I come across more and more who seem unsure with less and less willing/able to commit.

Good question - I was just thinking something similar when I posted to this thread yesterday:

For my part, it is the pitiful absence of suitably qualified and experienced people willing to step forward which allows the lame, the tame and the insane to dominate parish councils to the detriment and perpetual frustration of ever being able to make any meaningful progress.
If nothing changes it'll all just stay the same - and that is the biggest threat...  (IMHO)
