My Parish is considering an offer to form a Grouped Parish Council with a neighbour. Apart from shared costs, would being part of a larger Parish bring advantages to Councillors and or Residents?

Bigger isn't always better in real life. Amalgamating two smaller or one bigger and one smaller PC's together can have both advantages and disadvantages and a quick pro and con analysis needs to be considered. Larger pool for prospective council members, larger precept pool overall, more facilities to share, etc. Higher costs, local loyalty clashes, resistance from one PC at taking on a lame duck PC etc.

Homework needs to be done and sight of whether this is equally desired and wanted and for the benefit of both communities need also be closely assessed.Perhaps that is where it should start-ask the electorate. Now there's a noveltylaugh
