Not me but others the bill for tissues for the year is over£150 we have two clerks

Yes - seemingly trivial but….

Tissues OK?

What about fags and booze?  Would that be OK?

What about sandwiches? Would that be OK?

What is the definition of what IS OK and what isn’t?

When is “public” money not “public” money?

Plasters / bandages / first aid supplies - yeah - no worries there.
What about if the caretaker was buying boot polish?  Would that be OK?

But on the bright side….  If you have Cllrs that are actually paying that amount of attention to detail on your accounts / payment schedules you are probably scrutinising more than most.

If the council is unhappy with this provision then why does it keep authorising the expenditure?

That's about two boxes a week? That's a lot of tissues.
