Our clerk has taken to writing PostScripts onto minutes - using the postscript to answer any perceived criticism of the council. I have argued that this is NOT allowed as (a) the clerk is not a participant in debates or discussion and (b) the postscripts were not said at the meeting and therefore should not be on the minutes.
Furthermore they sent this email which I do not understand can anyone tell me what it means because to me it reads I won't answer your questions only questions from the collective body of the council!!
"The Clerk wishes her response to CllrX be received at the Council meeting 5th Feb , on the grounds that the Clerk does not answer questions to individual Councillors but to the corporate body of the Council, and the factual response provided is for the benefit of all Councillors and members of the public/press."
It is also subjective on that the response they give will be factual which is why they were asked questions in the first place!
