A resident believes that a Cllr recorded a Parish Meeting but didn’t tell anyone that they were recording the meeting. Is this allowed?

Everyone has the legal right to record a meeting of the Parish Council that the public are admitted to. No permission or notification is required.

It's a public meeting (noting that it is not a PC meeting.)

There is no realistic possibility of preventing somebody recording it even if someone wanted to.

If I can see it and / or hear it, it is committed to my memory - how is this any different from audio or video recording?  The main difference is that an audio / video record is more accurate, may be stored for longer and may be retrieved for reference.  What's not to like about that?
I'd rather have a digital record than have people arguing over their personal recollection / interpretation which will invariably fade over time (or be intentionally misrepresented.)
This is the "so what" scenario....

A resident believes - so what?
