If there are more councillors wanting to be on a committee then needed how do other parish councils go about electing the number of councillors needed do you ask each councillor why they want to be on the committee ask what knowledge of the committee they have and then have a vote for each councillor?

We have a max of 8 cllrs per committee from a total of 15. Never had over subscription but would probably go to a ballot.

We allow as many as volunteer to serve and set the quorum as one third which is the same as for full council.  We've never had the entire council trying to join a committee; quite the opposite!  We sometimes struggle to get sufficient interest to meet minimum numbers!
