Does the ceremony of 'Mayor making' have to take place at the Annual Meeting, as well as the election of the chairman (who automatically becomes Mayor)? The AM has to take place within 18 days of the election, but organising the Mayor's ceremony takes some effort, and is being used as a reason for electing a chair and deputy in March (and confirmed in May) before new councillors in May have a chance to have their say. Doesn't seem right to me.

Electing the chairman/mayor making takes place in May.  End of!

Thanks John. I was trying to distinguish between the Mayor taking on that role at the AM - signing a legal document maybe? - as opposed to also placing the gold danglies over the anointed head. You're saying the ceremony of the gold danglies must take place at the same time ?
