How should a small Council show its compliance to JPAG regs?
My Council had adopted the nalc standing orders but what about the finance side of audit compliance?

Not regulation but guide! Council decides their need and scope for compliance.

Thank you and that's what really concerns me. There is nothing written down for my Council with regards internal controls and risk management. I'd like to persuade fellow members to award Grant's and apply for them (never been done before) but it will just muddy the waters.
My current starting point for some legal compliance will be ICO regs :)
It is always recommended that councils avail themselves of policies regarding specific actions they undertake. A policy does not have to be a 100 page document but a precise and concise definition of how your aims will be achieved. In the matter of grants given to presumably to the community, the boundaries of matters such as eligability, need, amounts, and measuring of success should all be defined. This is of course down to the council to decide and the clerk to advise on compliance with legal obligations.
It is of course one of the duties of your clerk to advise and keep the council aware of such compliance requirements.
Fellow Councillors dont want policies hence my ICO route. We should have a Complaints policy and Statement of Intent. Its gonna be a long slog. Thanks again Mentorman.
