Provision of software to Councillors

Question

Can Councillors demand a licence to Office 365 be purchased for them by the council with the understanding they need the software and associated cloud storage to enable their better doing the job of councillor?

Our council agreed back in 2015 to  license Office365 / Microsoft365 for all staff (2) and councillors (13), they are quick and cheap to enable/disable, and the email system / events revolve around the Outlook, calendar and teams facilities, that have been used really well throughout pandemic. - It was so much better than the adhoc systems that email and website providers made available at the time.

It's not cheap, but we wouldn't go back to not having it.

But if the Council hasn't actively decided to go that way, then no an individual councillor can't demand it.

If simple to answer - How do you quickly disable the access to councillors who leave the council?

In particular access to online records?

They are disabled the next working day, they are deleted after 6 months (in case there are documents that need to be accessed/reviewed, or in the case of online documents, that we need to change the ownership of the document.
