Failure to publish public interest report by external audit and subsequently consider the report at a public meeting

Hi

Who at a parish council is responsible for failing to publish a public interest report from external audit and subsequently consider the report at a public meeting?

Any advice would be most appreciated.

The public interest report should be on the agenda to discuss and uploaded to the website, so whoever does that should have been the person to do it.  The trouble if it isn’t done there is no-one to report the issue or anyone to monitor the situation.  When the next years accounts are audited someone can write to the external auditors and mention it but again not a lot is done, it should just be minuted and ends up costing the council.

Thanks Parish Councillor. My PC has failed consecutively to publish and consider PIRs from external audit over the past two years.

Ultimate legal responsibility is the Council's but one would expect the actual work to be undertaken by an employee.
