Is it okay for an MP to use the Parish Rooms as his surgery?

In my Parish the Clerk was dead against letting Borough Councillors holding a surgery, but common sense prevailed
The feeling was MP’s and Councillors are elected by the residents and are supposed to support residents irrespective of whether they voted for them or not
By providing premises you are not supporting that particular elected figure you are supporting that aim, by not providing premises you are being partisan
Others may don’t disagree

Cannot see any great problem providing that the same opportunity is offered to anyone making the same request. After all it is the PC's job to facilitate the wishes of their community which, providing the facility to the duly elected MP could be seen as being fulfilled.

More than OK; the MP is the community's representative in Parliament - there could even be a contribution from their expenses ;-)
