Would the 2010 Equality act be a requirement of a Parish council or a option for if they choose to adopt the document. Both authority`s above the Parish have the Act as policy what necessitates the Local council to adopt.

The Equallity Act 2010 applies to Parish Councils - It is included in the list of relevant bodies in Schedule 19 of the Act.

Thank you yes correct, but can a parish council choose to ignore it as an irrelevance.
That is, in current held model policy's are deemed sufficient for needs.
Er, no ... ignore it at your peril. You probably need to get more specific advice based on your particular circumstances.
Thank you I would assume the MO in the first place or perhaps the Clerk.
Would you elaborate a little more on what to express in advising the putting in place the Act for a reluctant council.
