Our Borough Council has offered 25% Grant towards CCTV.   What sort of costs should expected?  Any experience

For what purpose?

A few smaller parishes may be able to pool their resources and purchase one mobile system to share between them
Forgive me, what do you use mobile CCTV for?
We haven't yet, but I know of a number of parish councils that do use CCTV in their problem areas.  We would want to try and stop anti-social behaviour in two of our areas but I think costs are out of our reach, and it would not be possible to do this alone.  Mobile would enable us to share the price and use.

Our Parish has a number of cameras that 'guard' the roads in and out of the main village, which were installed a few years ago. This was in response to a constant problem of antisocial behaviour and other crime.

There was a dramatic reduction in crime. Even now they continue to be effective.

Apart from the installations costs there is the annual maintenance costs to consider. Ours is about £3000pa.

Thanks Caroline, is that a static or mobile system?  Due to costs we are hoping for mobile to share with other parish councils
Cameras are static. We have some mobile (luggable) speed indicators which we share with neighbouring councils. So far one has been stolen, and one damaged beyond repair. Usually chained and padlocked to a lamp post or other street furniture. The fixed cameras have been fine but they are mounted a lot higher up.
In our Borough, the mobile CCTV was stolen when used!
