Do Recordings of meetings mean no minutes need to be produced?

I’m concerned about the energy and effort that goes into formulating an agenda, circulating papers, holding the meeting and then writing up and agreeing the minutes. How can Technology be legitimately used to streamline this paper chase?

The simple answer is that it can't. Well not yet anyway. Legislation is always well behind the times and the wheels of government revolve slowly, or during Brexit years, grind to a halt. (Apologies for mentioning the B word!) It was only five years ago that they allowed us to distribute agendas by email and even now, members have the right to receive a paper copy rather than an email if they wish.
