I don't know that there is any limit, although I can see that it could be annoying!

I agree with counterpoint, I don't think there is a maximum number of times you can stand / resign.  However, surely the Parish Council should take a stance on this and not appoint them?  We have a co-option policy that states that it is the right of the parish council, if no election is called by the electorate, and if there is only one applicant for the post, thatthat applicant can still be rejected.  Otherwise, parish councils could be victims of all sorts of "unsuitables"!!
